Welcome to MDA! Start here.

If you’re new here, a little backstory might be in order. I started Mark’s Daily Apple blog in 2006 as a way to share information I learned and synthesized as part of my personal health transformation. The whole story here If you are interested.

For many years, I have written almost daily about everything related to how to be a healthy, happy, productive, fulfilled, and long-lived human being. Along the way, I wrote books, developed digital programs, and started businesses. institute training health coaches, company I’m committed to making the best sauces, seasonings, and pantry staples using real ingredients I trust.

At the end of 2023, we retired Mark’s Daily Apple blog. The idea was to do some updates behind the scenes and bring them back online in a few weeks. What does this say about the best plan? Yes, we were wrong.

But now we’re back with a new home in Substack. MDA will continue to serve as an archive of Mark’s Daily Apple’s 20 years of work and as a place to publish new content. Mark’s Daily For longtime members of the Apple community, today is the day we’ve all been waiting for and something to celebrate.

I’m sure you also have some questions. I will do my best to answer below. This took a long time. I hope you are as excited as I am that MDA is back.

The short answer is that after shutting down a blog, we found it impossible to simply restore it on top of the scaffolding we had previously built. A 20 year old blog is totally old in the tech world. It goes without saying that blogs as a creative and educational medium have changed dramatically over that period.

With this in mind, we began looking at alternatives, from rebuilding from scratch to starting over on a different platform. Each plan had its pros and cons, but I’m very glad I ended up here with Substack. Through this, we hope to be able to restore the archive and reach new people who could benefit from learning all about Primal.

As I said, we’ve thought a lot about how best to bring MDA back online. Ultimately, we decided to start with the core content and the most popular and most recent posts, then work back through the archive.

Fun fact: MDA consists of over 6,000 posts and pages in total, and we review them all.

Check out the Archives tab and use the search function to see everything we have here. If there’s a specific post you’d like to see republished, please let me know. here. My team and I will do our best to restore your most requested posts in a timely manner.

Yes, we will be rolling out (at least some of) the posts again, as are the posts. There you can request whatever you like. same link.

no! MDA will remain free and accessible to everyone, as always.
