“Having been here for over two years, I have felt the love of this community, and the decision to leave was the hardest decision of my life.

Former Huddersfield manager Corberan, who worked under Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds, took over as manager at the Hawthorns in October 2022, replacing Steve Bruce, who was sacked a fortnight earlier.

In his first full season, 2023/24, the Spaniard led the Baggies to the Sky Bet Championship play-offs, where they lost to eventual winners Southampton in the semi-finals.

They currently sit seventh in the second tier, outside the play-off places on goal difference, have lost just one of their last 14 games and travel to Pride Park to face the derby on Boxing Day. sky sports soccer.

Chris Brunt, Damia Abella and Boaz Myhill will oversee first-team duties until further notice, the Championship club have confirmed.

West Brom chairman Silen Patel paid tribute to Corberan as he departed.

“I would like to thank Carlos for his hard work since joining Albion during one of the most difficult times in the club’s modern era,” Patel wrote on social media.

“I am grateful for his contribution and wish Carlos and his family all the best in his new journey!”

Valencia are second bottom in La Liga with just two wins, which has led to the sacking of former Spain international Ruben Baraja.
