
To survive in one of the harshest environments on Earth, the people who live and patrol the Canadian Arctic rely on lessons passed down through generations.
The BBC joined the military’s Canadian Rangers on the final leg of their 5,200 km (3,200 miles) Arctic patrol. There, they shared the survival skills needed to endure sub-zero temperatures, navigate the remote tundra, and camp in conditions as cold as -60C (-76F).
