As WWDC 2026, Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference, approaches, anticipation is growing for what Apple has in store for us this year. From Siri’s overhaul to new Apple Intelligence updates, there’s a lot to look forward to.
The annual Worldwide Developers Conference begins Monday at 10am PT/1pm ET. For those interested, the event will be streamed live via the Apple Developer app, Apple website, and Apple Developer YouTube channel.
Siri’s major AI transformation
The most anticipated announcement is a major AI upgrade for Siri. This transforms Siri into a conversational assistant that can understand context, handle multi-step tasks, and interact more naturally across apps and services. The revamped Siri leverages Google’s Gemini technology to enhance its functionality.
Additionally, a recent leak from Bloomberg revealed a standalone Siri app that aims to compete with advanced AI chatbots like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. Apple is also introducing a feature reminiscent of messaging apps, allowing users to set timers to automatically delete conversations after 30 days, a year, or keep them indefinitely.
AI Agent App Store
According to The Information, Apple plans to introduce AI agent integration into the App Store. Details are scarce, but agents will allow users to delegate tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing daily tasks, editing documents, or controlling smart home devices.
Camera and Photos apps
A new “Visual Intelligence” section is expected to be introduced within the Camera app, replacing the previous Visual Intelligence feature found on the camera control buttons. This upgrade introduces a dedicated Siri mode that exists next to options like Photos, Videos, Portraits, and Panoramas. The Visual Intelligence feature leverages Google Image Search to accurately identify objects you capture.
Additionally, the Photos app is set to receive exciting improvements powered by Apple Intelligence. This can include intelligent scene recommendations for photo optimization, automatic object removal for cleaner images, innovative AI photo editing capabilities that allow users to simply request edits using natural language, and new productivity features in VisionOS.
Image Playground Update
Apple is upgrading the Image Playground app to introduce higher-quality image creation, more artistic styles, better character consistency, and richer editing controls. The interface for creating new images has been simplified to provide fewer controls and a “Describe Changes” option for editing.
You may also be prompted with a Genmoji feature that suggests custom emojis based on your media and text interactions. Users can also create AI wallpapers that reflect different themes and moods.
apple wallet
Rumors are swirling that the Wallet app will get a notable update. Specifically, it includes a new bill splitting feature that simplifies sharing costs between friends and family. Users can take photos of receipts and easily create payment requests to other parties.
Along with this, the Wallet app also includes a “Create Pass” option that allows users to create digital passes from physical items such as movie tickets, concert tickets, or gym membership cards.
MacOS, iPadOS, VisionOS, watchOS, and tvOS updates
Apple is expected to improve the AI-powered Siri experience across its devices, as well as integrate more AI features and stability updates.
