Ukraine will meet with President Trump in Washington on Friday and sign an agreement that the United States can access the rare earth mineral deposits.
Zelensky hoped that “the” preliminary “contract with the United States would lead to additional transactions, but the US security guarantee has not yet agreed.
Trump said the US taxpayers’ taxpayers on the aid dispatched to Ukraine throughout the war will help “get back”, but the responsibility for Kib’s security should fall into Europe.
What is the terms of transaction?
The main details have not yet been disclosed, but Wednesday, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys SHMYHAL said Ukraine and the United States finished the version of this agreement.
SHMYHAL said in an interview with Ukrainian TV that the preliminary contract predicted that the “investment fund” would be established for Ukrainian rebuilding.
KYIV and Washington will manage their funds under “equal conditions,” the prime minister added.
He said Ukraine will contribute 50%of the future profits to the funds in state -owned mineral resources, oil and gas, which will invest in Ukrainian projects.
Zelensky admitted the fund, but told the BBC on Wednesday, “It’s too early to talk about money.”
The New York Times cited the draft documents and reported that the US would own the maximum amount allowed in the US law.
In recent weeks, inconsistency against mineral transaction conditions has been formed in some of the parts that are considered to be a deep crack between Trump and Gel Lenski.
President Ukraine rejected the US initial request for $ 500 billion (£ 39 billion) in the mineral wealth, but according to media reports, this demand has now decreased.
A source of the Ukrainian government told the BBC that “the provision of this contract is much better for Ukraine.”
On Tuesday, Trump said Ukraine supported Ukraine with $ 30 billion (£ 237 billion) and $ 276 billion (£ 27.6 billion pounds), saying, “I wanted to get back the money.”
But Germany think tank Kiel Institute estimates that the United States has spent $ 110 billion in Ukraine.
Does this deal include security guarantee?
Zelensky is pursuing transactions to include a firm security guarantee in the United States.
But on Wednesday, Ukrainian leader said that such a guarantee was not done.
“I wanted to be sentenced to Ukraine’s security guarantee, and it is important to be there,” he said.
Zelensky asked if Trump was ready for the BBC’s contract unless he provided the guarantee. “I want to find something similar to NATO.
“If you do not receive a security guarantee, there will be no ceasefire and nothing will work.”
Nevertheless, SHMYHAL said on Wednesday that the United States supported Ukraine’s efforts to gain security guarantee to continue peace.
He said that Ukraine would not sign this agreement until Zelensky and Trump agreed to security guarantee and decided to “tie this preliminary contract.”
Trump said on Wednesday that the United States would not provide security guarantees “more than that.”
But he added that the existence of US workers to the Ukrainian soil will provide “automatic security.”
The outlook for mineral transactions was first proposed as a way of providing a practical reason for Zelensky to continue to support Ukraine last year.
Trump said on Tuesday that Ukraine will get “right to fight” in return for the approach to minerals. The United States suggested that we will continue to supply equipment and ammunition until we trade with Russia.
The US also said Russia could accept Ukrainian European peacekeepers, but Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavov said that Kremlin would not consider it as a choice.
When is the deal signed?
SHMYHAL has prepared the final version of the US and Ukraine Guy, and the Ukrainian government said it would give the authority to sign on Wednesday.
Zelensky said, “It’s very direct,” with Trump, asking whether the United States will continue to support Ukraine.
Trump confirmed that he would meet Zelen Ski in Washington on Friday and sign the agreement.
What miner does Ukraine have?
KYIV estimates that about 5%of the world’s “important raw materials” is in Ukraine.
This includes about 19m tons of graphite reserves, and the Ukrainian Geological Investigation Bureau says that it is “one of the top five major countries.” Graphite is used to create an electric vehicle battery.
Ukraine also has significant sediments of titanium, lithium and rare earth metals, 17 element groups used to produce important weapons, wind turbines, electronics and other products in the modern world.
But in Russia, some mineral sediments were seized. According to Yulia Svyrydenko, Ukraine’s economic minister, today’s $ 350 billion (£ 27 billion pounds) of resources remain in the territory occupied today.
There is also a warnings that there are also transactions that can be accessible to Ukrainian vast minerals in the United States, unless the United States solves problems with an explosive mine.
One quarter of Ukraine’s land is believed to have been contaminated with concentrated mines on the east of the war.
How did Russia react?
President Vladimir Putin has not yet written a report that the terms between the United States and Ukraine have been agreed.
But on Monday evening, he said on his main TV that he is ready to “offer” resources to US partners in a joint project, including the mining of Russia’s “new territory.”
Putin said that the potential US-Ukrainian transactions for rare minerals are not concerned, and Russia said, “I want to emphasize more of this kind of resources than Uk Lina.”
“The new territory is the same. We are ready to attract foreign partners with the so -called new territory and have added to the historical territory that returned to the Russian Federation.”
A spokesman for Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for Kremlin, said: Jellenski’s visit to Washington.
