Windows 11 added a variety of new battery icons that are easy to understand at a glance.

Microsoft is launching a new Windows 11 INSIDER Preview Build, which includes some welcome improvements to the battery icon of the operating system today. This prevents users from realizing that the user has chosen a dead outlet, incorrectly connects the power adapter, or that the battery is too much consumed. Before too late, a lot.

The battery icon of Windows, which was traditionally black, is being updated in three colors designed to “know the battery status of the PC at a glance,” and the company wrote it on the Windows blog today. The green icon indicates that the computer is being charged and it is “good”, but the battery charging drops to less than 20% and the energy saving mode turns to yellow. The red icon indicates that “the battery is very lacking” and indicates that the computer must be connected as soon as possible before the computer dies.

The new color battery icon is displayed in the system tray of the taskbar, the fast -set flyout and the general Windows settings. Microsoft says this feature will eventually be used on the lock screen, but this feature will be provided in future builds.

Today’s preview release includes two additional improvements to the battery icon. Microsoft simplifies overlays such as lightning charging icons so that it does not cover the icon’s progress line, and added the ability to display the battery charging ratio next to the icon of the system tray. Go to Settings> Power and battery to turn on the new “battery ratio” settings.

Microsoft says that this is a “function that insiders and customers request a lot” and are welcomed compared to the battery icons currently used in Windows, which provides vague signs of minimal information and battery levels. It should be noticeable immediately through the color. The laptop is connected to the power, and the charging begins, and it is much more difficult to ignore (or forget) almost discharged batteries when there is one digit charging rate and light red.

As soon as the latest update is provided, Windows participants in the developer channel, which are selected for the latest update, can already use the battery icon update. It takes more time to reach a regular release and can be adjusted before reaching another early adapter. Microsoft says, “We are planning to monitor feedback before it is disclosed to everyone, so we can’t use this experience for all insiders yet.”
