
Lisa Ashton shocked the Betfred Women’s World Match Play after surviving 11 darts to defeat Fallon Sherrock in the final leg thriller in BLACKPOOL.
The fifth seed saw Robyn Byrne of Ireland in the quarter -finals and won the event for the first time in a thrilling competition with Sherrock before chasing the champion Beau Geaves in the semi -finals.
ASHTON opened 85 finishes in the opening leg and added 15 dart brakes to take the early control of the tight contest.
Ashton fired 72 checkouts along the sixth leg and threw out before throwing, but he won the next two legs and ahead of 11 best meetings to 5-4.
Ashton thrown the 10th for eight missed darts in Sherrock and started the contest with the final leg crystaler. Here she won 64 finishes in the 2022 champion using a poorer finish.
