Yael Golan Appointed Interim Director of Israel Tourism North America: Travel Weekly

The Israel Ministry of Tourism has appointed Yael Golan as interim commissioner of the North American Tourism Board.

Former Tourism Minister Eyal Kalin has left the ministry to take up a position at El Al.

Golan will oversee all tourism marketing for the Department of Tourism’s five regional offices in the United States and Canada. Previously, Golan served as the Tourism Consul for the Southern Region for six years. Based in Atlanta, she promoted Israel travel to travel agencies, host organizations, airlines, cruise lines, major Christian denominations, and Jewish organizations.

In addition to her role as interim commissioner, Golan is also the director of the International Hosting Program. Since the October 7 incident, she has been responsible for finding housing for migrants as a representative of two northern Israeli regional councils, Marom Galil and Metullah.

The Israel Ministry of Tourism also appointed Richard Liverance as marketing director for the Western region and Lisa McManus as business development manager for the Midwest region.
