Zambezi Cruise & Safaris introduces luxury ships on the Zambezi River: Travel Weekly

Zambezi Cruise & Safaris has added luxury vessels to the Zambezi River.

The debut of cruise and safari operator Zambezi Trader marks a “new era of river tourism” in Zimbabwe, it said. The 66-passenger ship operates 2-4 night safari-style cruises from Msuna Island to Lake Kariba.

“We are proud to launch The Zambezi Trader as a new standard of excellence for tourism in Zimbabwe,” said Gavin Rennie, General Manager, Sales and Marketing. “This vessel opened up the Zambezi River in a way that had never been done before.”

Zambezi Trader has 29 cabins with private balconies, air conditioning and mosquito nets.

The company will run trips taking guests to the river’s bays and tributaries by small boat. The itinerary includes game drives, bird watching, catch-and-release fishing and visits to local villages, including a tour of a Tongan village.

Cruise reservations are available after January. Prices start at $325 per person per night.
