The Zambian government has dismissed the claim of dangerous pollution in the copper belt mining area according to the safety issues raised by the US Embassy.
Wednesday, the US Embassy announced a health warning by ordering the immediate withdrawal of KITWE TOWN and the nearby employees due to concerns about the “wide contamination of water and soil” related to the leak in February at SINO-METALS MINE.
The leaks occurred when the light mi dams used to store toxic waste and heavy metals were collapsed by the KAFUE river, the main drinking water source after heavy rain.
The US Embassy said there is a new information that shows “dangerous and carcinogens.”
“The contaminants of the mining mining mine that spilled beyond contaminated water and soil warned that it could be a health threat by inhalation.”
“The laboratory results showed that the pH level has returned to normal, and the water is safe to drink.
MWEETWA said it no longer had a serious impact on public health, water safety, agriculture or the environment.
“Therefore, there is no need to surprise the country and the international community by pressing the ‘panic button’ today.”
SINO-METALS LEACH ZAMBIA MINE is a subsidiary of China’s non-ferrous metal mining group owned by the Chinese government.
The BBC asked SINO-METALS for opinions.
At the time of leakage, SINO-METALS promised to compensate for the affected community and restore the environment.
Leaks affected farmers who use water to irrigate aquatic creatures and crops.
Mike MPOSHA Green Economic Minister said the government has been pre -prevalent and continued to update the public since February, but the affected community has been rewarded.
Collins Nzovu said that the government is constantly testing water and met the world’s health organization.
The opposition party’s Green Party leader Peter Sinkamba said that the US Embassy’s health alert is part of his geopolitical.
He was wondering why the embassy took the embassy to issue a warning since February, and he traces the roots of the western mine giants, quietly accusing him of lead poisoning in the central part of Zambia.
The head of the Environmental Court of the Maggie Mapalo MWAPE said that contamination in the BBC is a national disaster that requires immediate and specific measures to relieve its effectiveness and prevent future occurrence.
She took decisive measures to solve this environmental crisis and protect the rights and welfare of Zambian citizens.
