ZIIP HALO is an at-home microcurrent and nanocurrent device designed to tone, lift, firm and even out skin tone, help with breakouts and increase collagen. What is NuFACE and how does it work?
The NuFace Mini Facial Toning Device is the first microcurrent device I started using, and I liked the quick and easy way to lift my face in just 5 minutes. Like the ZIIP Halo, I used microcurrent to sculpt, lift, and contour, and I definitely saw results. However, there are no nanocurrents or customized treatments like ZIIP. The Mini is more budget-friendly than the NuFace Trinity+, but it doesn’t have interchangeable attachments.

ZIIP Halo offers 17 app treatments that range from everything from my favorite facials to more targeted treatments like skin barrier repair, sculpting, neck, lips, healing, acne, and more. I love that I can customize my daily treatment depending on what my skin needs that day.
The NuFACE Mini+ only has 3 treatments, while the NuFace Trinity+ has 3 modes and 2 optional attachments (additional cost). One is for the lips and eyes and has a red glow attached.
I appreciate that the ZIIP is an all-in-one device that is easier to use and carry than an attached system. ZIIP doesn’t provide a red light, but uses the CurrentBody LED mask anyway.
Design and ease of use: What is easier to use every day?
ZIP Halo: It is the lightest and smallest, weighing 68g and measuring approximately 1.14″ Thanks to the ZIIP app’s treatment plans, including ‘Best Skin of Your Life in 30 Days’, using this product was the easiest to get into the habit of using. Additionally, the conductive gel does not dry out during treatment like the NuFace gel.
NuFace mini+: Weight: ~142g (5oz). Size: ~4.2″ L x 2.5″ W x 1.2″ D. Smaller than Trinity+ but larger than ZIIP Halo.
NuFace Trinity+: Weight 249g. Size: Measures approximately 5.41 x 5.16 x 9.02″ with facial trainer attachment. I haven’t tried this personally, but in practice it’s the bulkiest and heaviest to use.
ZIIP Halo 2.0 and NuFACE Results: What We Really Noticed
Both of these home microcurrent devices need to be consistent. I saw results from both, but they were not the same.
With the NuFace Mini, I saw results after 60 days, but they weren’t as noticeable as with the ZIIP. The most noticeable difference is that the wrinkles around the eyes have improved and the cheekbones and jawline have become more defined. However, I did not notice much difference in uniformity or discoloration of the skin tone.
After 30 days of using ZIIP Halo, fine lines and wrinkles were smoothed, my eyelids looked more lifted, and my face, especially my cheekbones and chin, looked more sculpted. After two years, my skin tone is more even, my blemishes aren’t as dark, my face looks more sculpted and lifted, and my neck has better texture.

I personally recommend ZIIP Halo over NuFace for all the reasons mentioned above: technology, benefits, and results. NuFACE does a good job of what it promises to do, but I think its benefits and treatment options are very limited. ZIIP won on technology and treatment versatility, while NuFACE Mini won on price and simplicity.

I think both are easy to use for beginners. That’s because they both have built-in treatments that you can turn on and off without using the app, as well as an automatic turn-off feature. However, I prefer that ZIIP offers more guided treatment options in the app, making it easier to follow.
Both are good for immediate lifting, but for long-term cumulative results, I think the ZIIP Dual Waveform has the edge.
