Scottie Scheffler has committed to compete in next week’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. This is his first competition since he injured his right hand while preparing Christmas dinner.
Scheffler said earlier this week that his recovery was going well and he was eager to return, but “I’m not in any rush to get back.”

Schaeffler is participating in the competition for the first time since winning the Hero World Challenge held in the Bahamas for the second year in a row last December.
Scheffler also teamed with Rory McIlroy in Las Vegas to win a made-for-TV match that lasted just 14 holes over Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau.
The 28-year-old said he was unable to touch a club while his right hand healed from surgery to remove glass, adding: “It was pretty unusual not being able to do much in the gym.”
Scheffler had to miss The Sentry at Kapalua and The American Express in the California desert last week and did not say when he would be healthy enough to play again.

“I’ve pretty much lived my life this year,” Scheffler said after securing the FedExCup win and capping off a “crazy” season on and off the golf course.
The 28-year-old became the first player to win the Players, Masters and FedEx Cup in the same season.
Scheffler won the season-ending Tour Championship by four strokes, never relinquishing first place for four days, and became the first player since Tiger Woods in 2007 to record more than seven wins in a year. PGA Tour.
After winning his second Masters title in three years, he was arrested and charged ahead of the second round of the PGA Championship in May.
The charges were later dismissed as Scheffler won his next two signature events, the Memorial Tournament and the Travelers Championship, then won a gold medal for Team USA at the Paris Olympics and won the PGA Tour’s FedExCup for the first time in his career.
