As a result, there will still be no VAR in the EFL next season and only goal-line technology in the Championship.

The Football Support Association conducted a survey of 8,000 fans of 20 Premier League clubs at the end of March.
75% of fans said they were against the use of VAR, while 90% disagreed that the introduction of VAR in the Premier League had improved the match-day experience.
91% of fans said VAR hurt the spontaneity of goal celebrations, while 94% disagreed that VAR makes watching football on TV more enjoyable.
Meanwhile, soccer lawmakers have been expanding VAR’s authority.
The use of VAR to check corner kicks will be optional in this summer’s competitions, with core VAR protocols now extended to include a second yellow card.
Lawmakers are adamant that VAR checks at corners should not delay kicks and will only be used to spot obvious errors. Corner kick checks will be an optional rather than mandatory part of VAR protocols.
VAR also only checks for second yellow cards that were incorrectly awarded. They do not advise referees to issue a second yellow card that is not marked on the field.
