Start by cooking the bacon. I love using thick cut bacon in these sandwiches. Because there are so few ingredients and you have to count them one by one! My favorite way to cook thick cut bacon is to bake it in the oven because it’s a lot less messy!
-
Preheat oven to 400°F and line a sheet pan with foil. Place the bacon slices on the pan, not overlapping. For thick-cut bacon, cook for 12 to 14 minutes to achieve the perfect crispy texture. Remove from the oven and place on a few paper towels to cool.
-
While the bacon is cooking, rinse and dry the lettuce and chop the tomatoes. I like thick sliced tomatoes for my BLT.
-
Place the bread in the toaster and toast until golden brown. Spread mayonnaise on the inside of a piece of toast. Assemble the sandwich starting with lettuce, tomato slices, salt, pepper and bacon slices. Top with the remaining half of the bread. Cut the sandwich in half and enjoy!!
