National authorities in Europe have been urged to continue monitoring pesticide residues in imported samples using a broad analytical spectrum.
Maximum residue level (MRL) violation and non-compliance rates for foods imported from other countries were three to four times higher than for products grown in EU member states, Iceland or Norway. High non-compliance rates were observed for pomegranates, lemons and tomatoes from Turkey.
