On April 30, the U.S. Embassy in Beirut suggested that a meeting between Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would give Lebanon “the opportunity to secure concrete guarantees of full sovereignty, territorial integrity, border security, humanitarian and reconstruction assistance, and full restoration of state authority over all Lebanese territory.”
