Japanese bear that injured 4 people escapes

Japanese authorities have been trying to capture a bear in northeastern Japan after it injured four people and appeared to evade capture by opening a window on its own.

A previously released video showed a bear chasing and attacking a man outside a building in Fukushima.

Authorities said the bear was trapped inside an electronics factory and escaped at night.

According to city officials, the bear’s tracks indicated that he had unlatched the window and pushed it open.

Before escaping on Wednesday, the bear was reportedly seen turning on a faucet with its paw.

“We believe it is very intelligent,” Fukushima Mayor Yuki Baba said, according to Kyodo News.
