Jeamie TKV is targeting Dave Allen for the first defense of the British heavyweight title.
TKV thwarted Olympic bronze medalist Frazer Clarke in a bruising 12-rounder to win the Lonsdale belt on Saturday, earning a split but deserved decision.
TKV, who previously came close to boxing Allen, is still pursuing that fight.
“The (British Boxing) board chose Fraser Clarke over Dave Allen (for the title fight) because he beat Dave Allen, but I still want to explore that option,” said the new British champion. Sky Sports News.
“I still think it’s a worthy fight and a fight worth having, so I think Dave Allen is probably the right opponent for me next.
“Probably my preferred name would be Dave Allen.”
Allen lost his last fight when he was outclassed by Aslanbek Makhmudov in October, but stopped Johnny Fisher in five rounds earlier this year and he remains one of the hottest figures on the British fight scene.
But after beating Clarke, TKV were confident of victory. “No matter who I fight, I will retain that title,” the Londoner said.
TKV is convinced he was on the verge of knocking out Clarke when he left him badly shaken in their 11-round clash.

“I thought about getting him out of there, but to be honest, I was so excited and tired. I forgot my boxing skills and started buzzing left hooks, right hooks,” he said.
“I got to spend time with him, but I forgot all my boxing skills. One of the left hooks made me fall, and he fell on top of me and that bought me some time.
“But I still got to him. He handled it very well and when he went back to the corner his legs were unsteady.”
TKV said: “In the corner, Angel (Fernandez)’s trainer was asking him, ‘Are you with us? Are you there?’ But he wasn’t really reacting. His seconds and everyone else around him felt it would be best to get him out again because they felt he had one more round to win the fight on points.
“But that in itself could be dangerous because he could have been hit by another big one and we don’t know what happened.”
TKV will be riding a wave of goodwill after their recent win in their expected title fight against Allen.
“When people underestimate you and you do a little better than they expected, it always gets better. People think more highly of you,” he said.
“I prefer to be the underdog in every fight.”
