
USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a public health alert for jerky products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens.
This product contains wheat, a known allergen not listed on the product label. People who are allergic or sensitive to wheat may be at risk of a serious or life-threatening reaction if they consume the product.
A recall has not been requested because the product is no longer available for purchase.
FSIS is concerned that some of the products may be in consumers’ pantries.
The ready-to-eat jerky items were produced at various dates between August 7, 2025 and July 1, 2026. The following products are subject to a public health alert:
- 2.5 ounce “STREET’S BEEF Jerky TERIYAKI FLAVOR” plastic bag packages with lot codes 0701271, 0520271, 04014271, 0415271, 0211271, 1015261, 1016261, 1029261, 0909261. 0806261 and 0820261 appear on the packaging sticker.
This product has the establishment number “EST. 21827” printed inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to three retailers in Oklahoma: Bordwine Hay, Feed & Hardware, Grassroots Farm Store and Bromide Trading Co.
This issue was discovered during a routine FSIS label review.
There are no confirmed reports of adverse effects from consumption of this product. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact their health care provider.
Consumers who have purchased the product in question are advised not to consume the product. These products must be discarded or returned to the place of purchase.
