Primal Blueprint Rule 9: Avoid Stupid Mistakes

Our ancestors required a keen sense of self-preservation along with keen observation skills. Always looking, smelling, listening to sounds around you, alert for danger and recognizing what immediate action you need to take, whether running from a saber-toothed tiger, dodging a falling rock, dodging a venomous snake, or just avoiding the sound of a careless step.

They are Primal Blueprint Law #9: Avoid stupid mistakes. Remember, a twisted knee or broken ankle can kill someone who is unable to run away from danger. In fact, along with high infant mortality rates, trauma (or a momentary lapse in judgment) may have been the biggest cause of our ancestors’ low life expectancy despite their good health. Avoid trauma. Then there is a very good chance that you can live into your 70s and be extremely fit, mobile and fit. Modern hunter-gatherers often maintain strength and health well into their 80s.

Today’s threats are different, but the fundamental truth remains: Avoiding stupid mistakes is how we live healthy, happy, and long lives.

Get rid of self-destructive behavior. These concepts are self-evident to most people: wear a seat belt, avoid texting and driving, walk or text, don’t smoke or abuse drugs, be careful with alcohol, and don’t dive in shallow water. However, many of us live our lives unaware of the impending danger. Develop a keen awareness of your surroundings and pay attention to the logic of potential outcomes.

When lifting or exercising, know your limits. Listen to that little voice inside you that tells you to “cut your set short” or “take a break.” It’s your nervous system that often tries to avoid silly mistakes in the weight room or on the field.

Today’s mistakes are often choices made, ignored opportunities, and avoided risks.

From a physical security perspective, it’s a very secure world. We don’t hunt for food or fight with our neighbors for resources. What we often do is let the world pass us by. we stay ~ degree Be safe and avoid opportunities to win big.

Another big, stupid mistake many people make is letting relationships deteriorate for the sake of external rewards from the “world.” Skipping a soccer game to work a few more hours. I forgot about date night. Build and maintain personal relationships first and foremost.. Let them support you as you pursue your fortune.

As you can see, the world has become more complex than it used to be. There are more mistakes to make. Although it is a foolish mistake, it is cunning. Nowadays, it is often more difficult to identify silly mistakes. They are not as obvious as dangerous snakes or enemy tribes and are more dispersed. You won’t always see it happening, so always be aware of the situation, pay attention, and avoid taking the easy way.
