PDC Women's Series: Beau Greaves continues season dominance with back-to-back wins on the same day | Darts News

Beau Greaves continued her dominance in the women's division by winning the PDC Women's Series for the second year in a row at Wigan on Saturday.

The two-time Women's World Match Play champion has won 12 consecutive matches at Robin Park Tennis Centre, extending her lead in the Women's Series Merit Rankings in the process.

Dutch duo Laura van den Berg and Desiree Geel were soundly beaten by Greaves in the early stages of Event 17, while Doncaster's Darter also beat Eve Watson to reach the quarter-finals.

Beau Greaves successfully retained her Women's World Matchplay title with a 6-3 win over Fallon Sherrock in July.

Greaves won a crucial match in the quarter-finals, holding off a late comeback from Kirsi Viienikäinen, before beating Eileen de Graaf 5-1 in the semi-finals to reach the final.

The Women's World Match Play final was replayed between Greaves and Fallon Sherrock, with Sherrock taking the £1,000 runner-up prize after a close match between Mikuru Suzuki and Noarin van Rooven in the final.

Sherlock recovered from a sluggish start to level the scores at 2-2 against his long-time rivals, but Greaves never wavered as he took control in the second half and won his last three games.

The 20-year-old continued her winning streak with a convincing win over Brig Ramsey in the first round of Event 18, before averaging 101.90 points over Aoife McCormack in her fourth match.

Beau Greaves has now won 27 Women's Series titles, extending her record.

Greaves backed that up with an average of 97 in a 4-2 win over Trina Gulliver, then crushed Rhian O'Sullivan in the quarter-finals before beating Denis Cassidy in the last four.

She completed the double with a comeback win over Van Leuven in the hotly contested Event 18 final, coming from 4-2 down to claim her record-breaking 27th women's series title.

Van Reuven, a three-time Women's Series champion in 2024, averaged 93 points over her last 16 games against Angela Kirkwood before beating Shorrock in the quarterfinals to solidify her second-place finish in the Women's Series standings.

The top two players in the final PDC Women's Series Merit List, excluding Greaves, will enter the 2024/25 Paddy Power World Darts Championship.

The top-ranked player will secure a spot in November's Grand Slam of Darts alongside Greaves, while Van Leuven currently has £2,200 more in prize money than Shorrock with six tournaments remaining.
