Rachel Corsie: Captain Scotland announced his retirement in football following the Nations League game | Soccer news

Captain Rachel Corsie, Captain Scotland, will retire from football in the coming national league match between Austria and the Netherlands.

The defender, with 154 caps on the country, was recounted on the squad last week by Melissa Andreatta.

However, due to a series of injuries, she left her as “chronic pain” and admits that six after six surgery, including five on the left knee, is now appropriate for retirement.

The 35 -year -old boy has played in nine clubs across Scotland, the United Kingdom, the United States and Australia for 18 years.

Corsie won the GLASGOW City and 16 trophy, including seven league titles.

But Corsie claims to break the boots after the last run -out in Scotland, and then to break the boots.

She said:

“My heart and head are stubborn and not ready.

“At the end of the season (after knee surgery in October) was a very difficult ambition and objective, but we arrived there. I like to play on WSL and play international football.

Corsie announced in the club that he will leave Aston Villa in three years.

“To know that I was 36 years old in August and played at the highest level at this point, I will stop at that point. I think that’s the right place for me.”

It was doubtful to return to the surgery

CORSIE returned to her latest knee operations in April after April, rather than planning four months later.

The procedure in October was expected to stop her for eight weeks instead of six months, and Corsie feared that her career would end as a side job.

She added: “I was told by a surgeon that the condition of my knee was quite related and the surgery would potentially relieved it before undergoing surgery, but it is very likely that the damage caused in my career will affect the remaining life.

“I wanted to do surgery because I knew I could not play again at a particular moment when I knew there was a particular injury to stop me.

“I have always had chronic pain, and I have to go up and down the stairs, sit in the car, go to the bathroom, take a shower, take a shower, and go up the bath.

“When you endure it in sports, when you go and train, you will be willing to accept any level of pain and discomfort, but I think it’s the rest of the day that has more mentally influenced because it doesn’t take a break.

“I was a much more difficult trip from the first half, especially from October to January.

“I have done a lot of rehabilitation and you find the process of the process almost cathartic, because you follow the steps and arrive there, and you feel good when you arrive there.

Corsie made his Scottish debut in 2009 and scored 20 goals in the National Side.

“Its mental challenge, emotional stress and knowing this can now be your last year, potentially, you will not be able to reverse it, I think it’s something for the very difficult players.

“It’s not the ending that someone wants, it’s not where you don’t actually talk about your terms.

“It also came out of the previous season -I was available in all single matches and I played in all club games and all cup games, Bar One. I was also suspended. I will also add that it is the only game in high -ranking games and clubs! I think it was very good to make it away.

“It was a tough journey. There were a few other little little little ones that were really common. It was disappointing by itself. I made it, and it was worth all the pain that day.”

‘The perfect ending of goodbye to say goodbye to Scotland’

Corsie’s last two matches are home to Austria on May 30 and travel to the Netherlands four days later.

In the list of thoughts, the center bag, the third place, says her two highlights were served with the national team. In other words, this was the perfect way to finish her career.

“Undoubtedly, the best thing I did in my life is to represent your kingdom,” she said.

“I haven’t experienced anything in such sports. It was something to me that I would cherish and take me for my life.”

When asked if it felt like a perfect end, she added:

“If you are Scotland, there is a special thing.

“I will include so happy, I will participate, I look forward to it.”

“One of my favorite moments and the happiest moments of my favorite moment was the greatest joy, when we were qualified for the Albanian World Cup.

Corsie appeared in Scotland in two major finals, including the 2017 Euros.

“I still like a very vivid perspective in the head of the moment when the referee flew to full time. The feelings are unmatched.

“In the sense of a great and powerful moment -I think it’s the day we played the UK in the World Cup.

“Some of them include build -ups, but I think they are leading the team in the first game in the World Cup. It’s a moment when you can’t duplicate. It’s only one of things that happens only when you work for the first time.

“I wouldn’t have dreamed of making fun of the World Cup when I was young.

“I surpassed everything I thought. Because I didn’t think I did what was possible. I thought it was impossible when I started.”

Women’s football power ‘

Leanne Crichton and Corsie played together at the club and international level.

Her former teammates, flatmates and former-Scotland International Leanne Crichton said: “My first memory of Rachel was probably when I came to the U19 national team.

“She would have been 17 years old, so she was a young man and was really quiet, but she could say that she was curious and interested in everything you are doing.

“I remember that she was running on the right wing at that point, and when you saw her career, it was absolutely unimaginable that she thought she had stayed there, so she decided that she had to return to the centerback.

“She was a long and long time, and she was an incredible captain and leader of the national team inside and outside the stadium, and I feel like she is always a leader before she becomes a captain.

“She always thinks of others as a top priority, and she is always trying to make sure she’s in the best place where she can be in the best place. She wants to participate in it, try to lay the foundation, and want the game to be the best.

“We both followed a similar path in that we both played in Notts County, we represented the national team, and we played at Glasgow City, our path was parallel at some point.

“She was an absolute power in terms of women’s soccer in Scotland, but I think not only in Scotland but also in the United Kingdom and the United States.

“If you look at how much she has done on the stadium, check her best place in the best place where she is available. She is always comfortable and willing to be comfortable enough to defend others. Perhaps she and I have gained our friendship and too strong in our faith.”
