
Former England international Raheem Sterling has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving. sky news.
The 31-year-old, who joined Dutch club Feyenoord in February, is suspected of crashing a Lamborghini while driving an M3 on Thursday and was stopped by police at 9am.
In a statement, Hampshire Police said: “Just before 9am on Thursday we received reports that a Lamborghini had collided with a barrier on the southbound M3 near Minley Interchange.”
“No other vehicles were involved and no injuries were reported.
The driver, a 31-year-old male from Berkshire, was arrested on suspicion of driving a vehicle unfit under the influence of drugs, dangerous driving, possession of a class C drug and failing to provide a specimen.
“He has been bailed while our investigations continue.”
A source close to Sterling stressed that his arrest was “suspicious”.
