Ravioli has been recalled from Costco stores due to an undeclared allergen.

Following consumer complaints, USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a public health alert for Ravioli Pasta products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens.

Ravioli labeled beef and burrata may actually have shrimp in lobster sauce. Shrimp and lobster, known allergens (shellfish), are not listed on the product label.

FSIS issues this public health warning to inform consumers who are allergic to shellfish that they should not consume this product. A recall has not been requested because the product is no longer available for purchase.

However, FSIS is concerned that some of the products may be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers.

The Ravioli Pasta item was manufactured between March 10, 2026 and April 21, 2026. The following products are subject to a public health alert:

  • 32-ounce plastic bag package containing “Giovanni Rana RANA Rustic Beef Sauce & Creamy Burrata Cheese Ravioli” (Use By: May 14, 2026 – June 25, 2026).

The establishment number “Est. 44870” appears within the USDA inspection mark on the product. This item was shipped to Costco retail stores in Maryland and New Jersey.

The problem came to light when the company notified FSIS of two consumer complaints that the beef sauce and burrata ravioli actually contained shrimp ravioli.

There are no confirmed reports of adverse effects from consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact their health care provider.

Consumers who have purchased the product in question are advised not to consume the product. These products must be discarded or returned to the place of purchase.
