inDrive, a global ride-hailing company known for its bid-based pricing model, has acquired Pakistan-based rapid commerce startup Krave Mart, TechCrunch has learned. The company is further accelerating its grocery delivery and commerce services in South Asia.
The all-stock deal agreed last year has received approval from Pakistan’s Competition Commission, allowing the companies to proceed with the deal, two sources familiar with the matter told TechCrunch. inDrive confirmed the acquisition but declined to disclose financial terms.
Founded in 2021, KraveMart is a grocery delivery startup operating in Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Lahore. The startup delivers groceries in about 30 minutes through a network of dark stores.
The acquisition is part of inDrive’s broader push into grocery delivery, expanding beyond ride-hailing and into commerce services. The Mountain View, California-based company first began grocery delivery in Kazakhstan in September 2025, and expanded its services to Pakistan in January this year through a partnership with Krave Mart, which received an investment from inDrive in December 2024.
The investment was made through inDrive’s Ventures and Mergers and Acquisitions arm, which launched in November 2023 to invest up to $100 million over the next few years to help strengthen the company’s superapp strategy.
“We continue to work closely with Krave Mart to expand access to fast, reliable grocery delivery services across the country and are pleased to have received approval from the Competition Commission of Pakistan for our most recent launch in Lahore under the inDrive.Groceries brand,” Andries Smit, chief growth business officer at inDrive, said in an emailed statement.
He said the Krave Mart and inDrive brands will continue to operate in Karachi as the company expands its grocery delivery services.

Scaling up grocery delivery in Pakistan can be difficult. According to industry sources, Foodpanda, which has been operating in Korea for more than 10 years and is backed by German delivery group Delivery Hero, is dominating the market. Fast commerce is difficult for new entrants to scale because it typically requires significant time and capital to generate meaningful returns, the sources said.
According to data from Sensor Tower, inDrive has been the second most downloaded ride-hailing app in the world since 2022, and with more than 400 million downloads, it ranks as the fourth most downloaded travel app globally, behind Google Maps, Uber, and Waze. According to Sensor Tower, this app is also the most downloaded ride-hailing service in nine countries, including Peru, Panama, Egypt, Morocco, and Pakistan.
inDrive operates in more than 1,000 cities in 48 markets around the world, giving it a broad base as it expands into new services such as grocery delivery.
