Ride & Seek Acquires Cycle Japan, Plans Expansion: Travel Weekly

Bicycle adventure tour operator Ride & Seek has acquired Japanese bicycle tour operator Cycle Japan, with a view to launching new products that expand its popular itineraries in the fall.

The newly expanded version of the Samurai Tour now includes Shikoku Island, Noto and Mt. Fuji and departs in September and October.

There are four versions of the Samurai Tour: two 10-night itineraries, one 14-night itinerary, and one 21-night itinerary.

There are still seats available on the 14-night Samurai Bonus Stage – Mt. Fuji Cross-Japan itinerary, departing September 8. This itinerary will take active travelers across Japan from north to south, exploring landmarks, cycling around Mount Fuji's five lakes, and exploring the communities of the Izu Peninsula and the Japanese Alps.

Guests can stay in a variety of accommodations, including Western-style hotels and traditional Japanese inns called ryokans, many of which feature hot spring baths.

Prices for the 14-Night Samurai Bonus Stage – Mt. Fuji Cross-Japan Tour start at $9,700 per person.

Ride & Seek has announced plans to work closely with Cycle Japan and founder John Morrell to expand self-drive tours centered around Hokkaido in the coming year.

Cycle Japan launched in 2018, and its first tour took place on the island of Shikoku.
