Trump Organization and Dar Global Launch Tokenized Resort Development in Maldives: Travel Weekly

The Trump Organization partnered with Dar Global, a Dubai-based luxury real estate developer, to develop Trump International Hotel Maldives.

This property will be the Trump Organization’s first property in the Maldives. The two companies also claim this to be the world’s first “tokenized” hotel development project.

In real estate, tokenization typically refers to converting ownership of an asset into a digital token on a blockchain. While real estate tokenization traditionally involves completed assets, Trump International Hotel Maldives will be tokenized at the development stage, giving “investors the opportunity to participate in high-growth premium real estate projects from the beginning,” Dar Global said.

Scheduled to open by the end of 2028, the property is located approximately 25 minutes by speedboat from Male. This luxury resort features approximately 80 beach and overwater villas.

This project represents an ongoing partnership between the Trump Organization and Dar Global. The pair already have numerous projects in the pipeline, including the Trump Tower Jeddah and Trump Plaza Jeddah mixed-use developments in Saudi Arabia, the Trump International Oman luxury resort, the Trump International Hotel & Tower Dubai hotel and residences, and the Trump International Golf Club Doha in Qatar.

The expansion of the Trump Organization’s Trump Hotels portfolio comes after a period of downsizing for the brand. Trump Hotels currently has eight hotels and resorts in Miami, New York, Chicago, Las Vegas, Virginia, Ireland and Scotland.

In addition to hotel projects in Oman, Dubai and the Maldives, the Trump Organization also announced hotel plans in Bali and Vietnam.
