Tyson Fury: British heavyweight announces August 1 fight in Dublin to warm up before November’s Anthony Joshua clash | boxing news

Tyson Fury has announced that his next fight will take place in Dublin on Saturday August 1st.

Fury’s warm-up fight, whose opponent has yet to be announced, will take place four months ahead of his much-anticipated heavyweight clash with Anthony Joshua in November, with the latter scheduled to face Albanian Christian Frenga in Riyadh on July 25.

Frank Warren, who told Sky Sports that Fury’s next opponent is expected to be announced this week, suggested Fury could join the card, with an IBO super lightweight fight between Pierce O’Leary and Mark Chamberlain already scheduled for August 1 in Dublin.

George Groves admits it is difficult to pick a clear winner between Fury and Anthony Joshua, but believes Oleksandr Usyk’s influence on AJ should not be underestimated.

Fury posted a video to Instagram on Tuesday showing his return to training in Thailand.

The caption read: “Let’s go to Dublin, Ireland, August 1st.”

Fury’s last match was a comprehensive points win over Russia’s Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on April 11.

Makhmudov stayed the course, but Fury almost won 120-108 on two cards and 119-109 on the third.
