Why haven’t more Americans been charged in the Epstein case?

The arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor on suspicion of official misconduct is making headlines in the United States.

But some U.S. lawmakers are asking why Americans linked to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein aren’t being criminally investigated.

BBC’s North America editor Sarah Smith explains why US prosecutors appear no closer to charging others in connection with the revelations in the Epstein files.

Andrew has previously denied any wrongdoing related to Epstein. He did not respond to the BBC’s request for comment on specific allegations related to the release of millions of Epstein files in January.
