Zuckerberg foresees agent commerce tools and major AI launches in 2026.

Mark Zuckerberg said Meta users will see the company’s new AI models and products in the coming months.

“In 2025, we have rebuilt the foundation of our AI program,” Zuckerberg said on a call with investors Wednesday, referring to the company’s recently revamped AI lab. “Over the coming months we will be launching new models and products. We look forward to continuing to push boundaries in the new year.”

However, Zuckerberg did highlight AI-powered commerce as a specific focus area for Meta, although he did not provide a specific timeline or product.

Zuckerberg continued: “This also has commerce implications: “Our new Agent Shopping tool allows people to find just the right set of products from businesses in our catalog.”

This offering reflects widespread interest in AI-based shopping assistants across the industry. Both Google and OpenAI have built platforms for agent-assisted transactions, and companies like Stripe and Uber have signed on as partners.

But while other AI labs have already built significant technological infrastructure, Meta believes that access to personal data will be extremely valuable.

“We are beginning to see the potential of AI to understand our personal context: our history, interests, content and relationships,” Zuckerberg said. “A lot of what makes agents valuable is the unique context they can see, and we believe Meta can deliver a unique and personal experience.”

Last December, Meta acquired Manus, a developer of general-purpose agents that offers similar technology. At the time, Meta said it would “continue to operate and sell the Manus service and integrate it into our products.”

The investor call comes amid Meta’s most recent quarterly earnings release, which also revealed a significant increase in new infrastructure spending. The company now expects to spend $115 billion to $135 billion on capital expenditures for all of 2026, up from $72 billion in 2025.

In an official filing, Meta attributes this leap forward to “the efforts of Meta Superintelligence Labs and increased investments to support our core business.”

While these numbers are significant, they still fall short of the $600 billion that Zuckerberg reportedly projected for Meta’s infrastructure spending by 2028.

Meta has previously faced criticism from investors for not making clear how its large AI investments would translate into profits for the company. But while details are still sketchy, Zuckerberg has made it clear that the AI lab’s work will soon be available to the public.

“This will be a critical year for us as we deliver personal superintelligence, accelerate our business, build infrastructure for the future, and determine how the company will work going forward,” he told investors.
